Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka was conceived in Minsk. Her father Sergey (d. 2019) was an athlete in ice hockey. Aryna Sabalenka was born Minsk, Belarus on May 5th of 1998. In her career she has been awarded 12 WTA singles titles. One of them was a Grand Slam at the 2023 Australian Open. As a doubles specialist She also took home both the US Open of 2019 as in addition to her first Australian Open of 2021 with Elise Mertens. The Sunshine Double was achieved by her and Elise in the year 2019. Together, they won the WTA 1000s in Indian Wells & Miami. Women's doubles only had four couples win this title. In January of 2023 she reached her highest ranking in singles. On 23rd August 2021, she climbed into the top two spot of world rankings. Following her victory at the Melbourne doubles tournament in February 2021, she was able climb the ranks to take the first spot in that specialty. Dmitry Tursunov coached her between 2018 and 2019 as well as a part of early 2020. Dieter Kindlmann also served as her coach for short periods between August and September of 2020. She has been trained by her native countryman Antonio Dubrov since the end of 2020. Serena Williams & Maria Sharapova have been her inspirations.
